Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly, representing President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi at the opening of the 5th Africa Health ExCon, toured the exhibition halls alongside Serbian Prime Minister Djuro Makut. The event, held under the theme “Health Sovereignty in Africa: Leadership, Resilience, and Self-Reliance”, showcases leading global and local pharmaceutical and medical technology companies.
Accompanied by Health Minister Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Egyptian Unified Procurement Authority head Hisham Stait, and Egyptian Drug Authority chairman Ali Ghamrawi, the Prime Minister inspected national pavilions including ECMI, Akdima, and Vaccine City, highlighting Egypt’s growing capacity in drug manufacturing, biotechnology, and medical supply chains.
The exhibition, organized by the Unified Procurement Authority under presidential patronage, runs June 15–18 with participation from African health ministers, parliamentarians, international organizations, and 387 exhibitors supported by 25 sponsors and 24 global partners. Major international firms such as GE Healthcare, Philips, Siemens Healthineers, and Japanese and Russian companies presented innovations in imaging, AI-powered diagnostics, and sustainable medical technologies.
Global representatives praised Egypt’s strategic role in advancing healthcare investment and technology transfer across Africa, underscoring the conference’s position as a premier platform for collaboration in health security and innovation.
