Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli underscored the necessity of capitalizing on historic buildings in downtown Cairo and turn them into historic hotels.
Several world countries are capitalizing on historic buildings for modern purposes to restore the splendor of these unused buildings, he added.
Madbouli was chairing a meeting of the the Supreme Council of Planning and Urban Development to discuss progress on urban development, reconciliation of buildings and several key files on Thursday.
The meeting was attended by several ministers and senior state officials.
The premier said he met with consultants to probe the proposed vision of the Pyramids Platea’s area of unparalleled historical importance.
The meeting discussed the introduction of amendments to conditions for Historic Cairo area, that were approved by the council.
