CAIRO- Egyptian Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli asserted there is a great and constructive co-operation between the Egyptian government and Norwegian company Scatec.

The government is ambitious to deepen cooperation and achieve joint interests, said Madbouli during a meeting, held Thursday to probe a number of projects the Norwegian company plans to carry out in Egypt in the coming period.

The meeting was attended by Minister of Electricity and Renewable Energy Mohamed Shaker and CEO of Scatec Terje Pilskog.

For his part, Pilskog said he is pleased to visit the Cabinet’s HQ to discuss projects of the promising company in the country.

He pointed out to “Egypt for Green Hydrogen ” project that is being carried out by the company in Egypt and whose first phase was activated during the 2022 global climate conference, COP27, in November.

The CEO said Scatec plans to implement an electricity linkage project with the European continent, adding that he is looking forward to exporting electricity from Egypt to Europe.

The project is very important to establish power production facilities to secure energy resources for Europe, including clean energy to boost green transition plans in the continent, he added.
