Egyptian Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli on Thursday received a report on citizens’ complaints registered with the Cabinet’s Ombudsman Office during the month of August.
The premier hailed the efforts of all officials at different government departments and bodies to solve citizens’ problems and resolve their complaints.
Director of the office Tareq el Refaei, who prepared the report, stated that some 93,000 complaints and pleas had been received during August, adding that 91,000 of them had been tackled.
About 68,000 grievances were referred to bodies concerned, while 23,000 others were shelved, Refaei said.
Refaei made it clear that 67 per cent of the complaints were filed against ministries, while 24 per cent were against city halls and 6 per cent against other parties, he wrote in his report.
Eleven ministries received and handled the complaints, Refaei said, citing those of manpower, health, social solidarity, education, housing, interior, supply, communications, electricity and petroleum.
The governorates of Assiut, Beheira, Cairo, Giza, Alexandria, Kafr el Sheikh, Sohag, Ismailia, Aswan, Port Said, Suez, Menya, Qena, Menoufia, Red Sea Gharbiya and Daqahliya also received the requests and pleas, he added.
