CAIRO – Egyptian Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli Sunday said that President Abdel Fattah El Sisi has directed extending topics addressed by the National Dialogue by including further issues and files, in light of local and foreign challenges that require consultation of several parties.
The premier made the remarks during a meeting with Minister of Parliamentary Affairs, Legal Affairs and Political Communication Counselor Mahmoud Fawzy and Head of the Egyptian Information Service and General Coordinator of the National Dialogue Diaa Rashwan to discussed prospects of promoting the role of the National Dialogue throughout the current period.
The meeting is aimed at determining tracks of files tackled by the National Dialogue, Madbouli said, adding that the current challenges necessitate ongoing liaison with board of trustees of the National Dialogue to exchange opinions and proposals.
The meeting reviewed progress achieved in several files on a number of topics.
The board of trustees of the National Dialogue has dedicated the last two sessions to discuss national security issues in light of recent developments, Rashwan said.
He added that a number of measures were proposed regarding key current political issues and challenges, in particular those related to developments in Gaza and rejection of the displacement of Palestinians.
Meanwhile, Fawzy emphasised the importance of raising the public’s awareness and developing scenarios for taking action in different events.
A meeting is set to be convened shortly with members of the board of trustees of the National Dialogue to discuss various issues and files, Madbouli noted.
