CAIRO – Egyptian Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli opened on Sunday the seventh edition of Cairo Water Week under the theme of “Water and Climate: Building Resilient Communities”.The event, to run till Oct 17, is held under the sponsorship of Abdel Fattah El Sisi and is organised by the Ministry of Irrigation and Water Resources.
The opening session was attended by a host of Egyptian ministers, ambassadors, representatives of diplomatic missions in Cairo and governors.The annual event will tackle five main topics; Transboundary Water Governance for Sustainable Development, Strategic Water Resources Management in Enhancing Community Resilience, Innovation and Financing Resilient Solutions for Water Security, Actions for Water and Climate Adaptations and Resilience and Climate-Smart Communities Planning and Legislation.
The event will include workshops, competitions for young entrepreneurs and post-graduate students and an exhibition featuring modern technological solutions in water desalination and renewable energy.
