Egyptian Prime Minister, Moustafa Madbouli, committed foreigners visiting Egypt for tourism or residence to submit to the General Directorate of Passports, Immigration and Citizenship receipts proving their transfer of the required entry permit fees in US dollars or any other foreign currencies.
The prime minister also issued new regulations for legalizing the residence of foreigners living in Egypt illegally.
These foreigners can legalize their presence in the country if they prove that they have an Egyptian host, according to the new regulations.
The same regulations also commit foreigners to deposit $1,000 or the equivalent of this amount of money in the relevant account in the nation’s banks.
