Egypt’s Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli inspected Sunday development works in areas around Sour Magra El Oyoun in Old Cairo.
The project is part of an urban rehabilitation plan for historic Cairo.
Cairo Governor Khaled Abdel Aal and a host of senior officials accompanied the premier during his inspection of the second stage of the project.
Abdel Aal updated the premier on the number of residential units that were evacuated in Sokar and Lamoun area and necessary compensations that will be provided to the owners.
About 520 residential buildings inhabited by 1500 families were relocated to Al Khayala area.
The project is part of the government’s ongoing efforts to restore the cultural identity of Old Cairo and reintegrate the old city in its historic urban landscape.
