Egyptian Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli, accompanied by a host of ministers and high-level officials, inspected on Thursday development works of charging stations for electric buses.
The move came as part of Madbouli’s current visit to Sharm El Sheikh to inspect development projects within the framework of preparations for hosting the UN Climate Change Conference 2022 (UNFCCC COP27) this November.
During the inspection tour, Transport Minister Kamel el Wazir briefed Madbouli on the developments works of charging stations for electric buses, which are currently being implemented as part of the government’s plan.
The minister, meanwhile, reviewed ongoing plans to establish 50 charging points for electric cars in Sharm El Sheikh, pointing out to President Abdel Fattah El Sisi’s directives to declare the Red Sea resort city a “green city”.
Egypt is currently intensifying its efforts in the transport sector as it gears up for hosting the COP27, added the minister.
