ALEXANDRIA, Egypt – Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli inspected Saturday a bridge project in Alexandria.
During the inspection tour, Transport Minister Kamel el Wazir said that the project comes as part of a plan to expand the transfer of goods and agriculture and industrial products through river transport and railways.
The project also aims to facilitate the transfer of imports from the river transport to the consumption places via a multimodal transport system, added the minister.
The bridges project, dubbed “Hweis el Maleh”, has been finalized, he said, adding that preparations are under way to transfer goods from this project to Nubaria canal.
The project contributes to enhancing the capabilities of river transport at the port by increasing the bridge’s height, he further said.
