CAIRO – Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli said on Tuesday that the government seeks to complete revamping unplanned areas in Cairo upon directives of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi to restore the civilised image of Cairo.
During a meeting with Cairo Governor Khaled Abdel Aal, the premier issued directives to provide people living in unsafe areas with houses in new housing projects.
During the meeting, the premier phoned Social Solidarity Minister Niveen Qabbaj, directing her to furnish homes as soon as possible for the citizens.
For his part, Abdel Aal said over 30,000 housing units have been occupied so far by people who were living in unsafe areas.
A total of 35 unsafe areas are planned to be upgraded as part of the second phase of the development project, he said.
