Egyptian Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli had a meeting with Chairman of the Egyptian Authority for Unified Procurement, Medical Supply and Management of Medicine Technology (UPA) Bahaa Eddin Zidan to follow up the authority’s work files.
Zidan said the authority contracted with Zambia to supply $24 million pharmaceuticals in line with Egypt’s vision to enhance trade co-operation with African countries.
He also reviewed the progress realised so far in establishing six strategic medical warehouses nationwide.
The talks also tackled the plan of upgrading ambulance pharmacies affiliated to the Egyptian Pharmaceutical Trading Company.
Zidan noted that the company has over the past period started supplying the Egyptian market with the latest tumor drugs used in the European market to develop the services provided to the Egyptian citizen, as well as expand up-to-date production lines to localise manufacturing most of imported drugs.
