Egyptian Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli followed up on the executive position of the slum alternative housing projects on Sunday.
At the beginning of the meeting, the Prime Minister stressed the importance of implementing housing projects “an alternative to slums” for their major role in providing a “Decent Life” for people residing in these areas, as well as developing these areas.
Madbouli confirmed that President Abdel Fattah El Sisi adopted these projects from the first day and supported them, indicating that the state is continuing its plans to develop Old Cairo as a capital of culture and tourism, pointing out that there are many projects, whether developing slum areas or developing A number of distinguished parks, such as Al-Fustat Gardens, as well as works to revive historic Cairo, and others.
For his part, Governor of Cairo Khaled Abdel Al said there are 20 plots of land that have been allocated for this project, which will witness the construction of 34,000 housing units within the 200,000-unit alternative to slums project, in implementation of the directives of President Sisi.
He also explained that 16 of these plots were handed over to the Engineering Authority, which is supervising the implementation, and preparations are being made to hand over the rest of the lands, reviewing in detail the data and position of each plot of land.
