Egyptian Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli has expressed the cabinet’s keenness on following efforts exerted by the Ministry of Environment about implementing presidential directives on some files topped by environment, solid waste, protectorates, ecotourism and environmental investment.
Madbouli’s statements came during a meeting Monday with Minister of Environment Yasmin Fouad, who briefed the prime minister on environmental conditions across the republic.
Fouad said her ministry’s efforts resulted in decreasing air pollution levels in 2022, adding the meeting also tackled means to reduce pollution in the Gulf of Suez, lakes and the River Nile.
On natural reserves, the minister said her ministry’s plan includes the development of license issuance systems to projects inside the protectorates with the aim of encouraging investments.
Minister Fouad said a conference for environmental and climate investment will be organised in Egypt in July with the participation of Egyptian and international institutions to review investment opportunities in the fields of environment and climate in Egypt.
