CAIRO – Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli Sunday convened a meeting to follow up on the progress achieved in the first phase of the Ras El Hekma development project and the disbursement of compensations for the residents.

The meeting was attended by Deputy Prime Minister for Industrial Development and Minister of Industry and Transport Kamel el Wazir, Minister of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities Shereif el Sherbiny, Marsa Matrouh Governor Khaled Shoeib, along with and other state officials.

The premier emphasised the importance of removing any hindrances alongside harmonising effort among all parties concerned to expedite the implementation of the project.

Madbouli reiterated maintaining fast-paced work effort to accelerate handing over lands allocated for the Ras El Hekma development project to the UAE partner, in order to begin the infrastructure work.

The meeting tackled progress achieved regarding handing over lands of the first stage of the project as well as the inventory of lands, houses, buildings and plantations in Ras El Hekma city, according to Cabinet’s Spokesman Mohamed el Hamasany.

The meeting also touched on the implementation rate of main networks, roads and various infrastructure and utilities in the alternative housing area of Shams El Hekma, the spokesman said.

He added that the alternative area comprises residential units, service and commercial and investment activities.
