Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly said various state bodies are continuously following up on steps related to implementing the Initial Public Offering (IPO) program, especially with regard to the Egyptian airports file.

This comes in light of the government’s keenness to implement the State Ownership Policy Document as well as to enhance the private sector’s role and increase its participation in various economic activities, he added.

Madbouly made the remarks during a meeting he held on Thursday to follow up on the developments of offering the management and operation of Egyptian airports to the private sector.

The meeting was attended by Minister of Civil Aviation Sameh el Hefny, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Civil Aviation Amani Metwally, Chairman of the Egyptian Holding Company for Airports and Air Navigation Ayman Arab, and the head of the business development sector at Vinci Concessions along with his accompanying delegation.

During the meeting, the prime minister issued directives to follow up on the studies conducted by the International Finance Corporation in preparation for offering the management and operation of Egyptian airports to the private sector.
