Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli discussed on Sunday  a wide range of issues, during a meeting with Minister of International Co-operation Rania el-Mashat.

The issues discussed during the meeting included means of enhancing co-operation with other Arab countries and ongoing preparations for the Egyptian-Lebanese Joint Committee meeting in Cairo.

Minister el-Mashat also briefed the prime minister about progress on co-operation with Iraq.

The minister also briefed the prime minister about progress on the implementation of the Kitchener Drain Project.

The project, the minister said, aims to develop a sustainable system for solid waste management and rehabilitate the drain’s infrastructure to achieve environmental, economic and health benefits for 180 villages in the governorates of Kafr el-Sheikh, Gharbeya, and Daqahlia.

Minister el-Mashat also reviewed proposed aspects of co-operation with international development partners on the presidential Decent Life initiative.

She also talked about co-operation with international organisations, especially on seawater desalination.

The minister said her ministry coordinates with several international bodies in the provision of Covid-19 vaccines to Egypt in co-operation with the Ministry of Health and Population.

The minister of international co-operation also tackled Egypt’s expected participation in the 25th session of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, which will be held in June 2022.

Egypt will be a guest country in the 25th edition of the forum, which marks its silver jubilee.

“Egypt’s participation in the forum will open the door for promising co-operation opportunities,” the minister said.

She added that this participation would also increase co-operation with the Russian side at the economic level.
