The Egyptian Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli underlined Egypt’s interest in contributing to putting into effect the 2063 Africa Agenda and bolstering co-operation and integration among African countries to achieve luxury.

He made the remarks on Wednesday in a speech which he delivered on behalf of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi during the fourth session of the African Union of the technical committee for public services, local governments, urban development and decentralisation.

Madbouli said Egypt’s hosting of the meeting reflects its interest in getting Africa to benefit from its expertise in various domains, especially economic, security and political fields.

He said Egypt seeks to offer a chance for decent life in local communities which it considers as the basis for confronting the challenges besetting Africa.

Madbouli hailed the outcome of the meetings of the African local development ministers.

He stressed that development of local communities and investment in upgrading local administration mechanisms are the sole way for maintaining the development gains in Africa.

He added that it is a prerequisite to confront major challenges facing local communities in the current period and in the future.

Egypt is keen on participating and supporting African forums and activities concerned with local development, he said.

Madbouli underlined the importance of promoting local administrations, decentralisation and mechanisms of public management of utilities and services in facing climate change challenges.

Egypt is keen on addressing all challenges facing Africa and visions for adaptation to climate change at the United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP27).

He said relevant initiatives and projects will be introduced during the event in accordance with African mechanisms for local administration and sustainable development.
