In a landmark moment for Egypt and the world, Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly delivered a heartfelt address today at a press conference marking the much-anticipated opening of the Grand Egyptian Museum this evening.
Set against the backdrop of thousands of years of civilisation, the event marks a significant milestone in Egypt’s ongoing commitment to preserving and celebrating its unparalleled historical legacy.
Speaking with evident pride and emotion, Madbouly described the museum as a gift from Egypt to all of humanity, symbolising over seven millennia of rich heritage
“It is indeed a profound source of pride and honour for me, as Prime Minister, to join you all today in celebration of this remarkable gift from Egypt to the world,” he declared.
The Prime Minister provided insight into the journey behind the creation of the museum, highlighting that the vision was conceived three decades ago.
He acknowledged the challenges that delayed construction, particularly in the years following 2011, but emphasised the pivotal leadership of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi in reviving and accelerating the project.
“Only a very small percentage of the work had been completed when we relaunched the initiative. The overwhelming majority of what you see today was accomplished in just the last seven to eight years,” Madbouly explained.
Underscoring the importance of collaboration, the Prime Minister extended his sincere gratitude to key figures in the private sector for their instrumental roles in bringing the museum to fruition.
Prime Minister Madbouly concluded by expressing his appreciation to all involved in the museum’s realisation and conveyed his optimism for Egypt’s future.
“This is truly a historic and exceptional day for Egypt. With the dedication and unity of all Egyptians, we look forward to even greater days ahead,” he stated.
The opening of the Grand Egyptian Museum tonight is expected to attract global attention, showcasing Egypt’s ancient treasures and reinforcing its status as a cradle of civilisation.
