Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli participated on Wednesday in the “Envisioning Egypt’s Future in Education” conference, held under the theme “Presenting the Results of Egypt’s Education Reform Study: Evidence, Progress, and Future Vision.”
The high-level event, organised by Egypt’s Ministry of Education and Technical Education in co-operation with UNICEF, focused on reviewing progress in Egypt’s ongoing education reform agenda.
The conference witnessed broad participation from ministers, governors, senior officials, ambassadors, members of both houses of parliament, media representatives, and international development partners. Attendees included Ahmed Abul Gheit, Secretary-General of the League of Arab States; Mahmoud Mohieldin, the United Nations Special Envoy on Financing the 2030 Sustainable Development Agenda; and Esohe Joan Egbiki, the Country Engagement Lead for Egypt at the Global Partnership for Education (GPE).
Egypt has accelerated efforts in recent years to reform the education sector through curriculum modernisation, technology integration, expansion of technical education, and partnerships with international institutions to improve competitiveness and workforce readiness.
The study reflects an ambitious national agenda aimed at reshaping the educational system to empower Egyptian children and youth with the skills and core values necessary to build the future of the nation.
Conference sessions reviewed key indicators measuring progress in Egypt’s education reform process for the 2024–2026 period, highlighting efforts to enhance the educational system at all levels.
The event also featured new evidence and analytical findings prepared by UNICEF in coordination with the Office of the United Nations Resident Coordinator to assess the impact of educational reforms and support a brighter future for Egypt’s younger generations.
In addition, the conference provided a high-level platform for dialogue and the exchange of perspectives among major stakeholders involved in the education sector, with discussions focusing on shaping future visions for education in Egypt.
The event reaffirmed the Egyptian state’s position that education remains a top national priority and a central pillar for developing human capital and driving sustainable economic growth.
