PM directs action to locally manufacture pre-paid, smart meters

Egyptian Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli has directed the government to act to locally manufacture and make available pre-paid and smart metres.

A clear plan should be outlined to implement that, Madbouli ordered during a meeting on Monday to follow up on the file of utilities across Egypt.

It is important to update the map of utilities and upgrade the efficiency of the collection of dues, the premier told his ministers of electricity, petroleum, housing and industry.
