Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli chaired on Tuesday a meeting of the Central Crisis Management Committee at the government headquarters in the New Administrative Capital to follow up on the military escalation in the region and its impact on Egypt.
The meeting was attended by senior ministers and officials, including the Central Bank Governor, the Ministers of Health, Finance, Foreign Affairs, Petroleum, Industry, Tourism, Agriculture, Electricity, Supply, Investment, and Information.
Madbouly reviewed the latest developments and stressed Egypt’s ongoing efforts, led by President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, to work with international partners to stop the escalation and contain its economic consequences. He reaffirmed Egypt’s firm position in support of Arab security and stability.
Foreign Minister Badr Abdel-Aati detailed Egypt’s diplomatic efforts, including the President’s recent Gulf tour to support Arab states and push for de-escalation.
The Central Bank Governor confirmed no problems in providing foreign currency for essential imports and raw materials. The Health Minister assured safe stocks of medicines and medical supplies. The Petroleum and Electricity Ministers outlined measures to secure energy supplies and reduce consumption.
Information Minister Diaa Rashwan noted regional and global media appreciation of Egypt’s role. He announced a press conference tomorrow with the Foreign Minister to present Egypt’s efforts since the start of the crisis.
