Egyptian Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli asserted the government’s utmost keenness on following up the provision of basic commodities in domestic markets at affordable prices amid the Russian-Ukrainian crisis and its different repercussions.
That came at the premier’s meeting with Supply and Internal Trade Minister Ali Moselhi in the government’s HQ in New Alamein City on Monday to review efforts to provide main goods for citizens nationwide.
Moselhi said the country’s strategic wheat reserve is sufficient for 4.6 months, which, he added is a very good stockpile.
As for cooking oil, he said its reserves are sufficient for 6 months, adding that the General Authority For Supply Commodities (GASC) bought 125,000 tonnes of oil through an international tender.
The supply sugar stockpile is sufficient until the beginning of the season in February, added Moselhi.
Amounts of rice are at hand in supply outlets to meet needs, he added.
