Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli Thursday arrived at Baghdad International Airport, leading Egypt’s delegation to the meetings of the third session of the Egyptian-Iraqi Joint Higher Committee.
The premier is accompanied by a number of ministers and officials.
Upon his arrival, Madbouli was received by Iraqi Minister of Trade Atheer Dawood al Gheriri and Egyptian Ambassador to Iraq Ahmed Samir.
An official reception ceremony was held for the premier at the premises of Iraqi government in the capital, Baghdad, where he was received by his Iraqi counterpart Muhammad Shia’ al Sudani and a galaxy of Iraqi minister and officials.
The national anthems of Egypt and Iraq were played and the Iraqi guard of honor welcomed the high-level Egyptian delegation.
Madbouli and Al Sudani will preside over an extensive round of talks to discuss various files and issues of mutual interest.
The two prime ministers will also co-chair an economic forum that will bring together a large number of businessmen from both countries to explore opportunities for joint cooperation in the fields of investment and trade.
