SHARM EL SHEIKH, Egypt – Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli asserted that Egypt has deeply appreciated its extended cooperation with the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB), praising the bank’s role in achieving development among its member states in light of the tough global economic conditions.
These remarks were made by the premier during his meeting with President of the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) Muhammad Sulaiman Al Jasser on the fringe of their participation in the 2022 Annual Meetings of IsDB Group, held in Sharm El Sheikh under the patronage of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi.
Minister of Planning Hala El Saeed attended the meeting.
During the meeting, Madbouli explained that he is looking forward to seeing the bank adopt a cooperation formula among its member states concerning the most pressing issues such as food and energy especially after the bank has allocated a special funding to deal with the negative impact of the Russia-Ukraine crisis.
Meanwhile, IsDB Group Chairman asserted that the bank appreciates cooperation with Egypt and its pioneering role in all the banks activities and its projects.
Jasser, on his part, welcomed the premier’s proposals for boosting cooperation with the bank in the coming phase to stand against global economic challenges, asserting that IsDB will intensify its consultations with the member states in the coming phase to crystallize domains of cooperation in the fields of concern.
