CAIRO – Egyptian Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli announced that Khaled el Anani will be nominated for the post of UNESCO director-general during the period between 2025 and 2029.
Madbouli underscored the importance of cooperation between Egypt and UNESCO.
Speaking at a press conference on Wednesday, the premier said that Anani’s candidacy decision was made by the national committee in charge of setting criteria for choosing the best candidates.
Today’s cabinet meeting approved Anani’s nomination for this position, he added.
The premier said Anani has made great and precious contributions to science, education and culture at both the national and international levels.
