SHARM EL-SHEIKH – The plenary session of the Sharm El-Sheikh meetings began on Wednesday to discuss US President Donald Trump’s plan to reach a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip.
Al Qahera News channel reported that the expanded session brings together Head of Egyptian General Intelligence Major General Hassan Rashad, Qatari Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Mohammad bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, Turkish Intelligence Chief Ibrahim Kalin, US envoys Steve Wittkoff and Jared Kushner, and the head of the Israeli delegation Ron Dermer.
Intensive Egyptian efforts continue to create an atmosphere conducive to reaching an agreement to stop the war that has been ongoing for two years in the Gaza Strip and to release the captives and detainees.
President Abdel Fattah El Sisi affirmed that Egypt is making great and continuous efforts to end the war, expressing his appreciation for US President Donald Trump and his strong will to stop the war.
He expressed hope that the ongoing negotiations involving delegations from Palestine and Israel will come up with an agreement leading to the delivery of humanitarian aid and Israeli withdrawal from the Gaza Strip.
He said, “I have received encouraging news in this regard.”
