CAIRO – Egyptian Planning Minister Hala el-Saeed hailed the outstanding co-operation with development partners, especially the United Nations Women, in the field of empowering women at various levels.
She referred to the political leadership’s deep interest in empowering women, especially in view of Egypt’s achievements in the field of gender equality and merging social issues into development plans in accordance with Egypt Vision 2030.
This came during a virtual workshop held by the Planning Ministry and the UN Women agency.
The workshop focused on the executive steps to magnify women’s benefit from the national project for developing the Egyptian countryside under Decent Life.
Meanwhile, the minister’s assistant for sustainable development affairs Gamil Helmi expounded the role of Decent Life in improving the Egyptian women’s living conditions, e-mechanism for following up the presidential project as well as following up and assessing the development impact of Decent Life.
He referred to the ministry’s launch of the first sustainable development guideline.
He noted that Decent Life plays a key role in achieving a leap in the services offered to people in rural areas, especially women.
For her part, Gielan Elmessiri, UN Women Deputy Country Representative, commended the positive outcome which women realized in Decent Life projects.
