Egypt’s Planning Minister Hala Saeed said about EGP 3.9 billion public investments were allocated for 356 development projects in Gharbia governorate under the 2022-2023 investment plan, marking an 8 percent rise compared to the 2021-2022 plan.

This came while reviewing the ministry’s report on investments in Gharbia governorate.

Saeed said social participation is the main guarantee for localizing the sustainable development goals at the local level, achieving balanced regional development, and bridging development gaps between the different governorates, in line with Egypt’s Vision 2030 and the 17th goal of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals on Global Partnership for Sustainable Development.

Saeed added that the Planning Ministry is keen to get citizens involved in all stages of the development process.

Under the 2022-2023 investment plan in Gharbia, EGP 927.5 million was earmarked for higher education, EGP 644 million to local development, EGP 416 million for housing and EGP 200 million for transportation sector.

The report added that the presidential initiative of Decent Life targeted in the first stage about 54 villages in Gharbia and about 430,000 people benefited from this measure.
