CAIRO – Egypt’s Minister of Planning and Economic Development Hala el-Saeed, CEO of the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise Development Agency (MSMEDA) Basil Rahmi and Chairman of the Agricultural Bank of Egypt Alaa el-Din Farouk Zaki have witnessed the signing of an EGP 60 million financing contract between MSMEDA and the Agricultural Bank of Egypt.

Funded by the French Development Agency’s deal to support women’s micro projects, the contract comes within the framework of the Egyptian family development initiative (Bab Rizq).

The planning minister said the National Project for the Development of the Egyptian Family aims primarily to improve population characteristics and control population growth rates in a way that enables the Egyptian society to benefit from development and achieve Egypt’s Vision 2023.

The protocol signed allows for the financing of various projects for Egyptian women in a way that helps them improve the economic conditions of their families, face life’s burdens and lead a decent life, she added.
