Egypt’s Minister of Planning and Economic Development Hala el Saeed on Thursday discussed in a meeting with Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Muscat Stock Exchange (MSX) Mohammed Mahfoudh Al Ardhi ways of boosting bilateral cooperation.
The meeting was attended by CEO of MSX Haitham Al Salmi and Chairperson of Egypt’s Stock Exchange (EGX) Ramy El Dokany and Executive Director of the Sovereign Fund of Egypt (TSFE) Ayman Soliman.
During the meeting, the planning minister lauded profound relations between Egypt and the Sultanate of Oman, citing the successful results of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi’s visit to the Gulf country few months ago.
Saeed reviewed Egypt’s expertise in establishing the TSFE and its subsidiary funds that cover the fields of infrastructure, tourism, pharmaceutical industry and financial technology.
She also highlighted the government’s efforts to set up a new pre-IPO fund that aims to acquire public stakes in a number of government institutions to attract more investments.
EGX chairman said the visit is meant to follow up memorandums of understanding (MoUs) signed with MSX that focus on exchanging the know-how and exploring the mechanisms for joint listing.
On his part, Al Ardhi said the MSX is keen on boosting cooperation with the EGX and other investment institutions in the country.
