WARSAW – Egyptian Minister of Planning, Economic Development and International co-operation Rania el-Mashaat Wednesday chaired the inaugural session of the Egypt-Poland joint committee for economic, scientific and technical co-operation.
Mashaat said the launch of this joint committee is a significant step forward in the context of advancing Egypt-Europe relations under the leadership of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi. Joint committees are effective tools to identify shared interests and areas of mutual concern, she noted.
The first session of the committee is held following a new agreement for economic cooperation signed during the recent visit by the Polish president to Egypt and replacing the outdated 1964 deal, the minister said. The updated agreement marks a new phase in bilateral relations aimed at fostering mutual growth in all sectors, she noted.
The ministerial meeting of the joint committee will be co-chaired by Mashaat and her Polish counterpart Krzysztof Paszyk. This follows two days of expert-level discussions among representatives from key ministries and authorities on both sides.
