Egypt’s Planning and Economic Development Minister Hala el Saeed said that the volume of Egyptian exports to Japan in 2021 reached USD 327 million with an increase of seven percent compared to 2020.
This came during her meeting with Japanese Ambassador in Cairo Oka Hiroshi in which Saeed hailed distinguished Egyptian-Japanese relations.
She added that the trade volume between Egypt and Japan in 2021 reached USD 1.5 billion.
She also lauded Japan’s support to Egypt especially in infrastructure and transportation field, noting Tokyo’s efforts to establish the 4th line of Cairo Metro, Borg el Arab Airport and the Egyptian Grand Museum.
She also pointed out to cooperation in the fields of education and culture, noting that the Egyptian Finance Ministry recently auctioned bonds in the Japanese capital markets at a total of USD 500 million.
The ambassador hailed Japanese-Egyptian relations and lauded the Decent Life presidential initiative that will have great developmental impact on the Egyptian community.
