CAIRO – Egyptian Minister of Planning and Economic Development Hala el-Saeed asserted that the state has spent $400 billion (equals more than six trillion pounds) to improve the citizens’ quality of life.
Addressing a debate session on the fringe of launching “The National Project for Developing the Egyptian Family” event in the presence of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, el-Saeed said: “When the Egyptian state launched its vision for 2030 which comprised the national copy of the UN development objectives along with the presidential directives and the government’s plan of action for the economic and social development, the key objective was to build the Egyptian character and improve the people’s quality of life”.
Over the past seven years, the state has spent dlrs 400 billion she said, noting that the National project of “Decent Life” which worth more than $50 billion over a period of three years is the biggest development project in the world.
