Egypt’s Planning and Economic Development Minister Hala el Said said about EGP 102.6 billion is allocated for public investments in Cairo governorate under the FY 2022-2023 plan, at a 25.3 percent rise compared to the FY 2021-2022 plan.
The funds are allocated for implementing 1,326 development projects.
This came as the minister reviewed a report on the investment plan of Cairo governorate for 2022-2023.
This falls within the framework of continuing to apprise citizens of the investment plan in all governorates for the fourth straight year, especially with regard to the priorities of the sustainable development plan and its role in accomplishing the Egypt Vision 2030.
Said said social participation is the basic guarantee for strengthening efforts to fulfill the sustainable development goals at the local level, realizing balanced regional development and bridging the development gaps in various governorates in line with Egypt Vision 2030 and the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
EGP 44.3 billion of the total investments is earmarked for the transportation sector, EGP 20.6 billion for housing, EGP 5.6 billion for higher education and scientific research, EGP 4.5 billion for local development, EGP 1.6 billion for health and EGP 26 billion for other sectors in the governorate.
