Egypt’s Minister of Planning, Economic Development and International Cooperation Rania el Mashat said that 42% of the public investments of the plan of the current fiscal year is spent on human and social development which includes sector of education.
Mashat discussed with Education and Technical Education Minister Mohamed Abdel Latif the necessary needs to improve the quality of educational process at schools in Egypt in the fiscal year of 2024/2025 within the framework of the role of the Ministry of Education to formulate and implement economic development policies based on evidence and data, in addition to promoting efforts to bridge the gaps in the different sectors via a national framework of boosting constructive partnership among the bodies concerned.
During the meeting, Mashat said that the Ministry of Planning seeks to achieve the development goals in the different sectors and use the international cooperation mechanisms to support the planning process via rallying up resources and technical support to achieve comprehensive economic development.
Mashat pointed out to the efforts exerted to increase the efficiency of public investments and governance of investment expenditure of the plan of the current fiscal year to achieve the goals of the state to give a chance to the private sector and limit inflation rates.
Meanwhile, Abdel Latif said that his ministry focuses on presenting high-quality education to students in light of prioritizing the education file by the state and providing the potentials to overcome the different challenges, pointing out to the solutions and mechanisms that were implemented since the beginning of the academic year as urgent solutions to face the challenges.
Both sides reviewed the programs of the investment plan of the Ministry of Education and the axes of the national program for structural reforms to support the economic ability to achieve balanced and sustainable growth.
