Eg6ypts Minister of Petroleum Tarek el Mulla asserted that the Ministry of Petroleum has been working for years on facing climate change and decreasing emissions via varying the combination of consumed energy and increasing the rates of using natural gas.
This came Tuesday during the third Global Conference on Energy Efficiency in the presence of heads of authorities, holding companies and Egyptian and foreign oil companies.
Mulla said that there will be more flexibility in the future with the companies that are interested in investing to improve energy efficiency.
The petroleum sector is willing to continue with investing in the opportunities of the energy use efficiency to make the sector ready for handling any challenges, he said.
The ministry adopts a policy for the efficiency of energy in the activities of the petroleum sector to maintain energy and rationalize its use, he added.
The conference represents an important opportunity to exchange points of view and review the best practices that succeeded raising the efficiency of the use of energy especially in light of the challenges facing the world, he said.
The conference aims at putting a roadmap with specific goals in this field within the coming few years, he said.
He said that the challenges of the coronavirus pandemic affected the different business fields.
Mulla thanked the foreign partners of the petroleum sector for their pivotal contributions with the past years in the projects related with the energy efficiency.
