CAIRO – Big chances exist for projects to improve energy efficiency in Egypt, said Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Tarek el-Molla Monday.
Molla’s statements came during a meeting organised by ENPPI company on the occasion of the inauguration of an excellency centre on energy efficiency and operational performance in the presence of Japanese Ambassador to Egypt Oka Hiroshi and Chief Representative of JICA Egypt Kato Ken as well as senior officials of the ministry.
He said the petroleum sector succeeded in co-operation with strategic partners in realizing major achievements in the fields of energy.
He described the establishment of the center as an important step towards energy transition in the fields of oil and gas, thanking Enppi and EPROM for supporting the project in co-operation with JICA.
The Japanese ambassador stressed the importance of the project in the fields of energy transition and carbon emission reduction saying the project embodies cooperation between Egypt and Japan.
