CAIRO – Egyptian Petroleum and Mineral Resources Minister Karim Badawi discussed with Managing Director for Climate Strategy and Delivery at the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development Harry Boyd and his accompanying delegation ways of boosting co-operation between the petroleum sector and the bank in curbing greenhouse gas emissions.
In a statement on Wednesday, the Petroleum Ministry said that both sides discussed ways of providing necessary funding for renewable energy projects and efficiency of energy in a number of companies of the sector along with eco-friendly petrochemical projects.
The meeting probed joint cooperation in the mining field, as well as the provision of technical support by the bank to conduct a geophysical survey in the country to contribute to determine mineral deposits in the earth.
