CAIRO – Egyptian Petroleum Minister Karim Badawy has discussed with the US VAALCO Energy corporation its plans and programmes to increase oil and natural gas production in the Eastern and Western Desert.
The minister on Thursday received a delegation from the US corporation, including Thor Pruckl, Chief Operating Officer, and Iman Hill, the Cooperation’s Country Manager in Egypt, the Petroleum Ministry said in a statement.
The petroleum sector is keen to have ongoing contacts with global companies operating in Egypt to support them, attract new investments, intensify exploration programs with the use of the state-of-the-art technologies.
For his part, Pruckl lauded Egypt as a promising country for the corporation’s activities, particularly in the Eastern and Western Desert.
VAALCO Energy, Inc. is a Houston, Texas-based independent energy company principally engaged in the production, development, and acquisition of oil and natural gas properties in West and North Africa and western Canada.
VAALCO’s strategy is to increase reserves and production through the development and exploitation of international oil and natural gas properties, with a primary focus on Africa. The Company’s properties are located offshore Gabon and Equatorial Guinea, onshore Egypt, and western Canada.
