CAIRO – Egypt’s Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Tareq el Molla and Saudi Minister of Energy Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman discussed ways of boosting cooperation between their countries and the development of joint cooperation projects in the field of petroleum and gas.
Egypt and Saudi Arabia have strong and deep bonds, according to a statement by the petroleum ministry late Thursday.
The talks came on the sidelines of the International Mining Conference and Exhibition in the Saudi capital, Riyadh, it added.
Both sides tackled a number of issues of mutual concern.
In this regard, they asserted the significance of boosting the stability of global petroleum markets in face of consecutive challenges.
The two ministers reviewed efforts exerted through the pivotal role of the kingdom in implementing initiatives of stable markets and sustainability of supplies in cooperation with OPEC+ group.
“Petroleum is an important element in the world economy,” they stressed.
The two ministers underscored the importance of attaining fair and gradual energy transition in the light of high production of fossil and traditional fuels and their use in global energy mix programs to meet needs of peoples, according to the note.
