Egypt’s Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Karim Badawi participated in the official opening of the 5th edition of the Future Minerals Forum, hosted by Saudi Arabia from January 13 to 15 under the theme of “minerals: meeting the challenges of a new development era.”

According to a statement issued by the Ministry of Petroleum on Wednesday, the forum was inaugurated by Saudi Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources Bandar Al Khorayef with broad participation from mining ministers and global leaders in mining investment.

The conference is considered one of the world’s most prominent platforms in the mining sector, attracting around 20,000 participants, including ministers and senior officials from various countries, more than 400 executives and leaders of global mining companies, as well as representatives of financial institutions and mining-related industries.

The event tackles future challenges and opportunities, and on supporting the growth of the mining sector, which has gained increasing importance in recent years due to its strong link to strategic industries and green and renewable energy.
