Petroleum min., Honeywell co. probe establishing company for SAF production

CAIRO – Tarek El-Molla, Egypt’s Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources has discussed with Mohammed Mohaisen, Honeywell’s President for the Middle East, North Africa, Turkey and Central Asia, and Khaled Hashem, Honeywell’s regional director, a feasibility study for establishing a company for sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) production.

The company is set to be established in Alexandria governorate in partnership between the Petroleum Ministry and private sector companies with a production capacity of 120,000 tons a year, the Petroleum Ministry said in a statement on Friday.

The project is part of Egypt’s endeavors to protect the environment under global efforts to depend on green energy.

The project also aims to meet the growing needs of global and international aviation companies, the note reiterated.

Honeywell’s officials underlined the importance of this project, voicing hopes to increase investments in different fields in Egypt.
