Egyptian Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Tarek el Molla on Tuesday discussed with British Petroleum (BP) acting CEO Murray Auchincloss key projects carried out by the leading energy company in Egypt, especially in the domain of natural gas production.
They also discussed ways of accelerating exploration operations and development of BP concessions, as well as prospective investment opportunities in new concessions.
This came at a meeting held on the fringe of ADIPEC petroleum exhibition, which kicked off Monday and runs till October 5 in the UAE city of Abu Dhabi.
Minister Molla, in a statement issued on Tuesday, asserted the significant role played by BP as a strategic partner in Egypt’s major natural gas production projects as well as its keenness on the advancement of partnership.
BP interim CEO Auchinclos, meanwhile, affirmed that the strategy of BP in Egypt, its investments and future growth plans are maintained, adding that the company seeks to expand operations here in light of achievements attained throughout the past decades, the statement added.
