Egypt’s Petroleum and Mineral Resources Minister Tarek el Mulla said the large UAE investments in Egypt highlight the strength of bilateral ties under the leadership of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi and UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed.
He made the remarks while inaugurating the first gas station of the UAE’s Adnoc company in Egypt in Cairo’s suburb of Maadi.
Mulla was accompanied by Cairo Governor Khaled Abdel Aal and UAE Ambassador in Cairo Mariam Kaabi.
The minister highlighted the importance of Adnoc’s access to the Egyptian market as it is a major trademark, welcoming the UAE company’s investment in Egypt.
The minister inspected the 50-million-pound gas station, securing 250 direct and indirect jobs.
Meanwhile, Kaabi said Adnoc’s access to the Egyptian market adds to the strategic partnership between the two countries.
She noted that about 1,730 UAE companies are operating in Egypt.
