CAIRO – A passenger train has collided with a loader in a non-crossing area between Alamain and Sidi Abdel Rahman stations, the Railway Authority said Tuesday.
A statement by the authority said that the Moharam Bek-Dabaa train hit the loader which crossed the tracks suddenly at 8:35am.
The driver of the loader did not heed the warning siren sounds and crossed the railway from a non-crossing point, the statement made it clear.
The loader and all train carriages derailed as a result of the crash, it said, assuring no human casualties were reported.
The Railway Authority urged bus and car drivers to abide by signs and only use areas designated for crossing in order to avoid such accidents.
