The Egyptian House of Representatives, led by Speaker Hanafi Gebali, approved during its plenary session Monday presidential decision no. 400 of year 2022 regarding a loan agreement on a project to overhaul and improve the service of the second line of Cairo Metro.
The 250 million euros’ deal was co-inked by Egypt and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development in July, 2022.
The agreement aims to raise the efficiency of the Cairo Underground’s second line and scale up its commuter capacity to over 1.7 million passengers daily.
