The parliament approved on Tuesday under Speaker Hanafy Gebaly presidential decree no.93 of 2024 on approving an agreement on Egypt’s hosting of African Centre of Excellence on Climate Change Resilience and Adaptation of the New Partnership for Africa’s Development (NEPAD).
The center aims at encouraging economic and political integration between the member states and working on the support of the African states in the face of the negative impact of the climate change and adapting with them, a report of the committee of the energy and environment and offices of committees of African affairs, defense, national security and economic affairs said.
The center also aims at supporting the African countries to fulfill their international commitments concerning presenting national reports on climate change, achieving 2063 agenda, presenting consultations and making researches on climate change.
