Egypt’s Minister of Parliamentary, Legal, and Political Communication Affairs, Counselor Mahmoud Fawzy, has reiterated the crucial role which the national press plays in promoting public awareness through conveying facts, objectively, and shedding light on issues of concern to Egyptian citizens.
Fawzy visited the National Press Authority’s premises on Thursday where he met NPA’s Chief Eng. Abdel-Sadek El-Shorbagy.
The meeting, the ministry said in a statement, was part of efforts to strengthen collaboration between the two sides, for achieving shared national goals.
Counselor Fawzy congratulated El-Shorbagy on renewed confidence in him, as head of the NPA, wishing him and the authority continued success.
The minister also highlighted the national press’s role in quashing rumors, as well as disseminating accurate information, and stressed its paramount importance in raising societal awareness and fostering a culture of participation.
For his part, Eng. El-Shorbagy outlined the challenges facing the national press and the authority’s initiatives to address them.
These challenges include updating digital platforms, implementing advanced training programs for journalists, and investing in the assets of national press institutions to ensure their economic sustainability.
The meeting also probed opportunities for enhanced cooperation, asn Fawzy emphasised the ministry’s commitment to consolidating its partnership with media outlets and press institutions.
This collaboration would improve political communication, facilitate information flow, and support a comprehensive national vision that fosters better communication with citizens, he noted.
