CAIRO – Secretary of Defense and National Security Committee at the House of Representatives Mohamed Abdel Rahman Radi praised efforts exerted by the Interior Ministry in protecting the country against criminal schemes planned by the terrorist entities including the banned Muslim Brotherhood group.
In statements to MENA, Radi said that the police, through its preemptive security strikes, have always been a defense shield against the schemes infringing the nation’s security and stability.
He said uncovering the plan behind the “leaked” videos of the MB youtuber was a painful knockout to the banned group which has been used to fabricate groundless incidents to destabilise the state.
The lawmaker also commended the quick response of the Egyptian police which has countered such schemes of the terrorist organisation that have failed.
The Ministry of Interior has released videos of people who were on a phone call that was “leaked” by a Muslim-Brotherhood Youtuber to show alleged corruption in state-funded projects, whereas they were scamming each other and impersonating non-existent presidential advisors, according to investigations.
Youtuber Abdullah al-Sharif, who fled Egypt around the ouster of late president Mohamed Morsi, built around 25 minutes around the call, which itself lasted for about nine minutes, garnering 2.5 million views since Dec. 9.
In the call, a woman called Mervat and a man who goes by General Farouk both pose themselves as presidential advisors. The call purports severe corruption in national projects funded by the state, where “General Farouk” claims would award Mervat a construction tender in return for a commission.
